My Professional Journey (So Far)
I help brands and changemakers bring their ideas to life by blending story, strategy and technology. With nearly 20 years of experience across media, events and marketing, I bring a cross-functional mindset to creative projects to help ideas resonate and scale.
After finishing my MA in 2007, I started out as a freelance motion designer in the world of television and theatre. After a few years, I shifted toward online video production, just as digital platforms were beginning to reshape how brands communicated. In 2010, I launched Explainimate, a label for creating story-driven animated videos. I operated it with a product-like approach to pricing and packaging, making high-quality storytelling more accessible to startups and non-commercial organizations.
The success of this lead to co-founding Captain Motion, a boutique studio focused on audiovisual and immersive storytelling for brands and events. In the seven years working as Creative Director, I began weaving story and experience together—designing narratives that moved across screens, stages, and physical spaces. Around this time, my interest in technology as a creative accelerator really started to grow. We built an online platform that allowed clients to customize and rebrand animated videos themselves, and developed a production process to efficiently collaborate with stakeholders.
Besides running the studio I launched 3D Scan Expert, a website exploring 3D capture tech for creative purposes. By focussing on a creative niche in an industry dominated by engineers, the blog gained a large following and allowed me to work as a Creative Consultant helping national and international clients with their innovative projects. It also allowed my to learn hands-on about content marketing, digital strategy, and service design.
By 2019, I was leading teams as a Senior Creative Producer at the event tech company currently called Creative Technology. We created audiovisual and interactive content for global live events. When the pandemic arrived, everything shifted, and innovation accelerated. It allowed me to work closely with designers and developers to reimagine event experiences for the virtual world—fast, collaboratively, and creatively. This period shaped my interest in creative operations and scalable systems.
In 2022, I joined Nmbrs, an HR tech company shaping the future of work through both product and culture. In my part-time role as Brand & Creative Strategist I’m responsible for shaping the brand and bringing it to life creatively, supporting an awesome team of marketers, designers and creators.
Besides my work at Nmbrs, I launched a new freelance brand in 2025 to help individuals and small teams tell better stories: Neat Narrative | Storytelling Coaching & Workshops.
The red thread running through my journey is turning complexity into clarity, and shaping ideas that are both meaningful and impactful. And above all: making these ideas happen.
